Your journey

What you will master

You speak from the first lesson, and the grammar and vocabulary come through the conversations themselves. This is roughly the order we follow.

  1. First sentences

In Levantine you can make full sentences without any verb, so you start speaking right away: saying what things are, negating with "mish", and asking questions.

  2. Pronouns, possession and numbers

My, your, his and her, plus counting. These are the words you need in almost every sentence, so they come early.

  3. Verbs

How verbs work in the dialect: word order, the common patterns, and the past and present forms you hear every day.

  4. Everyday vocabulary

Topic by topic: family, the house, food, work, school, health, transport, shopping and travel.

  5. Expressions and proverbs

How people address each other, what to say on different occasions, and the common idioms and proverbs you will keep hearing.
